Selphyl®

The Selphyl® System is designed to produce safe and rapid, high quality Platelet-rich Fibrin Matrix (PRFM) from a small sample of blood from the patient.

What Can I Expect the Day of My Treatment?

1. During a short office visit (30 minutes), a small amount of the patient's own blood is drawn into a tube.

2. The tube is then placed into a centrifuge and spun for six minutes to separate the red blood cells from the platelets and plasma. The platelet and plasma mixed with calcium citrate is ready to inject into facial or other areas to induce new collagen growth and improvement of the overlying skin quality.

How Does the PRFM Work?

As part of the body's capacity to heal itself, platelets and other components in human blood migrate to a site of injury. Platelets are known to release a variety of factors that respond to tissue injury or damage, where they initiate and promote healing and regeneration. By injecting PRFM into the skin, physicians have the potential to induce new collagen growth and improvement of the overlying skin quality.

The Selphyl® system is completely natural by using the patient's own blood. You may experience some mild bruising, and the results should improve over time.Combine Platelet-rich Plasma with Microneedling for more dramatic skin rejuvenation.

1 to 3 treatments, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart are needed to receive the most benefit.
